Information for Schools and Colleges – How we can help

Newcastle UXL work closely with schools across the region to deliver the ASK (Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for schools) programme as a delivery partner on behalf of the Department for Education.

What is ASK?

The ASK Programme offers every educational establishment in England with students in years 10-13 access to fully funded, bespoke apprenticeship support to transform apprenticeship awareness activities so that students, parents, teachers and governors can be informed about the opportunities that apprenticeships offer. We can support with:

  • Awareness assemblies
  • Inspiring talks from Young Apprentice Ambassadors
  • Have-a-go workshops for students, including assessment centres and video interviews
  • Careers fair support
  • Teacher CPD workshops and events
  • Support for Careers Leaders
  • Parents’ evenings and workshops face-to-face support
  • Access free classroom resources, posters, guides and films
  • Live Broadcasts for exciting live interviews with top employers and their apprentices (also available on catch-up)
  • Visit Vacancy Snapshot, to hear hints and tips from some of the most sought-after apprenticeship programmes in England

Contact us and request support for your school/college.

You can also visit the Amazing Apprenticeships website to request support from UXL or your local delivery partner (we cover Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside) who will arrange for an apprenticeship expert to contact you and plan a programme of bespoke activities:
