Newcastle UXL Achievement Event 2012
Newcastle UXL held their Annual Achievement event at Newcastle Civic Centre Banqueting suite on Thursday 23rd February. An awesome night with Liam Frost hosting, top speakers such as Fabulous Flournoy motivating the crowd with his inspirational story and Councillor Dipu Ahad speaking on the importance of Diversity. The night celebrated the Achievement of Apprentices, Adult Apprentices, Employers, Foundation Learners, Training Providers and the Equality Compact. The night saw the Dissemination of the ‘Diversity in Apprenticeships and Training’ project with Kath Roe and Shobuj Miah presenting the work to the Audience. The night was entertained by Irish Dancers and the Encore group. The night was so overwelming that Janice Eighteen from Key Training and the Sheriff of Newcastle City Council; Councillor Jackie Slazenger could not help but say a few words to acknowledge a fantastic night. The Equality Awards 2011
Newcastle UXL proudly sponsored the SME Award and were themselves nominated for Outstanding Practice at the Equality Awards at the Gosforth Marriott last month.
Director Kath Roe presented the SME Award to winners JET (Jobs Employment and Training) and narrowly missed out on the Outstanding Practice Award to eventual winners the Cyrenians. It was a fantastic night and a great way to celebrate Newcastle UXL achieving both the Equality and Matrix Standard for their efforts in Work-Based Learning and the Diversity in Apprenticeship project.
